Marketing is an integral part of our everyday activities and experiences. It is concerned with developing, transporting, promoting, and selling the vast assortment of products and services needed to satisfy the diverse wants and needs of consumers. It is an indispensable part of business practice and a challenging field for study and research.

Curriculum Overview

Our curriculum is future-oriented. Students acquire the broad background of knowledge necessary for continuing professional growth in a changing world that demands highly qualified people for executive positions.

All marketing majors are required to take a core of courses devoted to the development of analytical skills. These required courses draw heavily upon both the behavioral and quantitative sciences and are designed to help students gain an understanding of the analytical methods and research procedures used in identifying and solving marketing problems.

  • MARK 4210: Professional Selling and Customer Relationship Management
  • MARK 4220:Sales Force Strategy and Management
    –or–
    MARK 4350: Marketing Analytics
  • MARK 4230: Advanced Selling
  • MARK 4800: Marketing Internship in Professional Sales or departmental approved and verified work experience and one additional 4000-5999 level MARK course not counted elsewhere for the marketing major.
  • Participation in the Terry Sales Competition in the fall or spring.

Completion of these requirements will result in recognition on the student’s official transcript.

Digital Marketing

  • MARK 4450: Social Media Marketing Strategy
  • MARK 4600: Integrated Marketing and Brand Communication
  • MARK 4650: Digital Marketing Analytics
  • MARK 4800:Internship in Digital Marketing

  • Completion of digital marketing speaker series offered in the fall
  • Participation in digital marketing competition offered in the spring
