Cal Evans
Senior Director of Market Intelligence and Analytics, SynovusAs senior director of market intelligence and analytics for Synovus, Cal Evans (BBA ’97, MBA ’05) is responsible for determining how market factors influence commercial real estate and industrial lending decisions. He also manages the company’s analytics arm and provides actionable intelligence for the bank. Before joining Synovus in 2008, Evans worked as a commercial real estate appraiser and private consultant in Athens.
While completing his MBA at the Terry College of Business, Evans taught finance at undergraduate and graduate levels. He is a faculty member at the LSU Graduate School of Banking, where he teaches real estate markets and finance.
At Synovus, Evans serves as chair of the company’s Economic Advisory Council and Economic Forecasting Committee, and a regulatory liaison to the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank on economic and commercial real estate matters. He also serves as a commercial real estate market advisor for the Georgia Association of Assessing Officials and is a member of the ULI Atlanta Capital Markets Council.
Evans lives in Columbus, where he is involved in the local community, serving as president-elect for the Historic Columbus Foundation.
