Terry readies for Undergraduate and Graduate Convocation ceremonies

Rennie Curran (BBA ’17), author and CEO of Game Changer Coaching, and BJ Schaknowski (MBA ’04), CEO of enterprise health care operations software and services company symplr, will deliver the keynote addresses for the Terry College Undergraduate and Graduate Convocation, respectively, at Stegeman Coliseum.

The two Undergraduate Convocation ceremonies are on May 9 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the Graduate Convocation ceremony scheduled for May 8 at 7 p.m. Terry’s Convocations are special ceremonies honoring Terry students. Those graduating in Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 are invited to participate in this year’s program.

Curran’s company empowers leaders, teams, and organizations to achieve their fullest potential. A three-time All-American, Butkus Award finalist, and permanent team captain for the Georgia Bulldogs, Curran played with several professional teams, including the National Football League League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Edmonton Eskimos and BC Lions of the Canadian Football League. He was inducted into the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame, Gwinnett County Sports Hall of Fame, Georgia vs. Florida Hall of Fame, and recognized in the UGA 40 Under 40. As CEO of Game Changer Coaching, he has partnered with organizations such as The Jon Gordon Companies, RISE, Career Management Partners and Transport Enterprise Leasing.

Schaknowski is a former United States Marine and a 25-year software industry veteran with previous leadership roles in CA Technologies, Intuit, and Sage Software. Before joining symplr, he worked in executive-level marketing, services, and sales roles at Vertafore and LexisNexis Software Solutions. He is a member of the CNBC CEO Council, and the Fortune CEO Initiative work and is on the board of directors for Susan G. Komen.
