Six University of Georgia professors were appointed to endowed professorships in the Terry College of Business.
Dean Ben Ayers announced the new faculty appointments in accounting, management, marketing, risk management and insurance, legal studies and real estate following approval by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents.
“These six faculty members have established impressive reputations for their scholarship and have been equally outstanding as teachers,” Ayers said. “We are proud to recognize their contributions to the Terry College of Business, our students and programs, and as leaders in their respective fields.”
The faculty members awarded new chairs and professorship include:
James Conklin, associate professor in real estate, was appointed to the ARK Professorship.
Conklin investigates the impact of mortgage markets and institutions, household finance and real estate finance on real estate markets. He joined the Terry College faculty in 2013.
David Eckles, professor of risk management and insurance, was named the Thomas and Kristin Golub Professor in Risk Management and Insurance. Eckles’ research examines insurance economics, policyholder behavior, and accounting-based incentives of insurers. He joined the Terry risk management and insurance faculty in 2005.
Szu-Han (Joanna) Lin, associate professor of management, was named the W. Richard and Emily Acree Professor. Lin investigates leadership and citizenship behaviors in the workplace and other organizations. She has been part of Terry’s management faculty since 2020.
Meghan Skira, professor in the John Munro Godfrey, Sr. Department of Economics, was appointed to the Sara and Dan Boyd Professorship. Skira investigates health care and public health economics. She joined the Terry faculty in 2012.
Julio Sevilla, professor of marketing, was named the L. Edmund Rast Professor of Business.
Sevilla’s research focuses on consumer psychology and retail marketing. He joined the Terry marketing faculty in 2013.
Santhosh Ramalingegowda, professor of accounting in the J.M. Tull School of Accounting, was named to the Deloitte Foundation Endowed Professorship. Ramalingegowda’s research focuses on the impact of ownership structure, institutional investors and financial reporting quality. He joined the faculty of the Tull School in 2006.
