Yes, all international students whose native language is not English and wish to be considered for financial aid must submit a TOEFL iBT score along with the application, regardless of the graduating institution. Strong preference will be given to students scoring 26 or higher on the iBT Speak Test, which is the college standard for serving as an instructor of record. Students who have iBT Speak scores of 24 may be admitted but may be required to take some coursework in conversational English as well.
Do you need transcripts?
Yes, submit 2 official copies of any school you have attended. If you have attended schools outside of the United States, please submit English versions.
How do I get a link to send to my recommenders? Can they submit the letter by regular mail?
The link to the recommenders is on the online application. Recommendation letters may be submitted either online or by mail. Letters of recommendation sent by regular mail should be addressed to the attention of Donna Sisk, UGA, Terry College of Business, 350 Brooks Hall, Athens, GA 30602.
How will I find out if I am accepted?
The Graduate School must concur with the departmental admissions committee before the decision becomes official. An "official acceptance letter" will be mailed by the Graduate School. Prior to the receipt of the graduate school's official notification, any notification of acceptance communicated by the Terry College, either verbally or written, is considered "pending graduate school approval" and is unofficial.
How do I check to see if you have all of my materials?
Visit the Graduate School website to check on the progress of your application. To confirm that your statement of purpose and recommendations have been received, contact Donna Sisk.
Is it possible to submit an application with GRE results pending?
Please contact the Graduate Coordinator in your specific program regarding their preferences for GRE or GMAT scores. Some departments (Economics) require the GRE, other departments (ACCT) require the GMAT, while some other departments may accept either under certain circumstances.
What is the deadline?
Departments will begin reviewing applications on January 4. Applications will be accepted for review until admissions to your specific doctoral program have been completed.
