Program Format
Accelerated Online Learning
The MPAcc program format allows you to learn from the convenience of home. This means you don’t have to put your life — or your career — on pause while you earn a graduate degree. Because courses are asynchronous, there are no required live meetings, and you can seamlessly integrate your coursework into your schedule.
In UGA’s online accounting master’s program, you learn alongside other working professionals and receive mentorship and guidance from faculty along the way. Engaging in projects enables you to synthesize your understanding and demonstrate your skills.
As an MPAcc student, you can expect to:
- Take classes on eLearning Commons (eLC), our course delivery platform
- Complete six modules, each about seven weeks long
- Commit approximately 10–15 hours per week to your studies, depending on the module
Curriculum Overview
Our curriculum features a module structure, meaning you take advanced accounting classes online divided into discrete, focused units of study. You gain a deeper understanding of accounting principles, preparing you for leadership roles in the field.
In the first two modules, you build a robust foundation in accounting fundamentals while honing your skills in data analysis. Master financial accounting principles, taxation issues, auditing, internal controls, and accounting analytics in modules three and four. Modules five and six feature business law and elective courses in management, auditing, and accounting analytics.
Whether you want to land a new job or advance to a senior position at your current company, UGA’s MPAcc program equips you with the knowledge and accounting acumen to achieve your professional goals.
