Some scholarships will require you to complete an essay response. We recommend preparing your answers in a word document beforehand in case your progress is lost. Your responses to these questions will only be shared with members from each individual department.

Essay Questions

If you wish to be considered for scholarships open to all Terry Students, please be prepared to respond to essay questions about leadership and hardship. You may respond to one or both questions.

Please write a brief 300–400-word statement explaining why you would be a good candidate for an Economics scholarship.

How would receiving this scholarship change or alter your academic pursuits?
(900-character limit, or approximately 100–150 words)

And one of the following questions (1500-character limit, or approximately 200–250 words)

  • What do you anticipate doing with your degree in finance?
  • What has been your favorite finance class and why?

  • Give one specific example of how you have displayed strong servant leadership.
  • How do you plan to serve others in the future?
  • Describe what ‘strong moral character’ means and give an example of how you have been recognized as living that description.

Can I apply without FAFSA?

Yes, but you will not be eligible for need-based scholarships. However, we have a number of merit-based scholarships, so please apply!

Why is my program not listed on the application?

Study Away, Experiential Learning, ENTR, ACCT, Music Business, and Professional and Community Engagement Scholarship Opportunities are not currently covered by the Terry College Undergraduate Scholarship Application. Please consult with these departments for more opportunities. However, you may still be eligible for scholarships through the application as it includes Terry-Wide Scholarships and other programs and departments you may be involved in. When will I find out if I have received a scholarship?

Notifications will be sent out from your department before the end of the semester.
