Three New Faculty
Dr. Tao Shu joins the Finance faculty this fall. He received his Ph.D. from McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin this summer. Also joining the faculty is Dr. Matt Blasko. Professor Blasko is a former student of the Terry College of Business and received his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. Dr. Rajesh Narayanan also joins the Finance Department faculty this fall. He received his Ph.D. from Florida State University. We feel very fortunate to have these new faculty join the Finance Department.

Professor Linck to spend summer in Oxford
Teaching twenty-six Terry and pre-Terry students in Oxford from July to August has Professor Jim Linck busy. Before starting the semester, Professor Linck and some colleagues took the students on an excursion to Brussels where they visited the European Union's Economic and Social Committee and the United Parcel Service (UPS). At UPS, they spoke with a panel of managers and directors (most were Terry alumni). The students gained insight on global business and how UPS grew throughout Europe. They also toured Brugge, Belgium, and the Bank of England in London.

Finance Faculty Continue to write Remarkable Papers
Professor Jeff Netter, Professor Jim Linck, and former Finance Ph.D. Student Professor Tina Yang (now at Clemson University) wrote a paper titled "The Effects and Unintended Consequences of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and its Era, on the Supply and Demand for Directors". The paper is a comprehensive study on the impact of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) on the supply and demand of directors.
