Terry College celebrates outstanding graduating seniors with Student of the Year Award

2022 Student of the Year Finalists

Each spring since 2012, the Terry College of Business Alumni Board has recognized a graduating senior who best exemplifies the ideals of Terry College and demonstrates the skills and commitment required to succeed in college, business and life.

Emma Biancheri
This year the board selected Brentwood, Tenn., native Emma Biancheri, who is graduating this May with degrees in International Business, Finance and Management Information Systems. During her time at Terry College, she has served as vice president of the Corsair Society, co-president of the Kennedy Society, co-president of Women in Finance and as part of the Student Managed Investment Fund and the Terry’s Women’s Initiative. After graduation, Emma plans to move to New York City to work full-time with Citi.

The board also recognized four outstanding seniors as finalists for the Student of the Year Award.

Skylar Aledia
Skylar Aledia, from Suwanee, Ga., graduates with a degree in Management Information Systems, a minor in Sport Management and a certificate in Personal and Organizational Leadership. Aledia served as a teaching assistant for a Computer Programming in Business course, on the MIS Advisory Board and is team captain of the UGA Club Softball team. She interned with KPMG and was selected to be in their Global Advantage Program. She will join KPMG in Atlanta as a risk advisory associate after graduation.
Sabina Ashurova
Sabina Ashurova, a native of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, graduates with a master’s degree in business analytics, a bachelor’s degree in Economics, a minor in Russian and a certificate in Personal and Organizational Development. She is a Deer Run Fellow and a member of the Blue Key Honor Society. Ashurova is co-founder of the UGA Professional Clothing Closet, which provides professional attire to students starting their first jobs and internships. She also served as a senior partner with the Kickstart Fund, a student-run venture fund that invests in student startups. She has interned for Varian Medical Systems and Cisco Systems and served as an undergraduate research assistant in the Economics department. After graduation, she will work as a data scientist at Cisco.
Owen Condon
Owen Condon hails from Oklahoma City, Okla., and is a member of UGA’s 2021 National Championship football team. Condon graduates with degrees in Finance and Real Estate. He is a founder of the DGD Fund, a donation-based platform to support nonprofit organizations and has interned with the Mitchell Investment Group. Condon is a member of the UGA Athletic Association Leadership Academy and is a Deer Run Fellow. Upon graduation, he will pursue a career in football and then a career in finance.
Lauren Ford
Lauren Ford is an honors student from Brookhaven, Ga., graduating with a degree in Finance. She is an Institute of Leadership Advancement Leonard Scholar, a member of the Corsair Society and the Student Managed Investment Fund, president of the Apollo Society and co-president Women in Finance. She has also served as a member of UGA Deck Dawgs, an ambassador group for the UGA Swimming and Diving team. Her professional experience includes working with Citigroup and Battle Investment Group. After graduation, Ford will return to Citi to assume a full-time position in New York City.
