MIS professor Amrit Tiwana spent a week in Japan in late November as part of a new Japanese government-funded initiative to develop a research program on systems-inspired businesses in Japan.
The research will be at the intersection of materials science, industrial engineering, and business. He also presented and discussed his ongoing research on platform ecosystems with researchers at Hitachi, Keio, and Tsukuba. He will serve as a foreign expert advisor (“project professor”) for the new initiative from 2014 to 2021.
