Marketing student takes first place in sales competition

Terry marketing student Simy Carvalho won first place at the Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon sales competition at Louisiana State University.

Carvalho won the competition, which was sponsored by Pi Sigma Epsilon business fraternity, by a unanimous decision from the professional judging panel. She will go on to compete at the Pi Sigma Epsilon National Convention in Houston, Texas, in April.

Carvalho took top honors by presenting a mock sales call to a buyer and a panel of judges. She competed against students from LSU and Kennesaw State University.

A third-year student, Carvalho serves as the vice president for marketing and sales for the UGA chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon.
