The Terry College offers both need- and merit-based scholarships to Terry students who participate in a qualifying study abroad program through the Passport Terry Scholarship Program. All students who apply to a qualifying program by the applicable deadline are automatically considered for these Passport Terry scholarships without the need for a second application
The purpose of the funding is to make study abroad accessible to more students by defraying the cost of program fees associated with travel and room and board. Applications received by the deadline are considered by a selection committee, and scholarship funds are disbursed at the start of the study abroad term.
Passport Terry Scholarship Program
The Terry College of Business Passport Terry study abroad scholarship program was created to increase and diversify student participation in study away and internships abroad. This program includes multiple funds. Most support student financial need, while others recognize and support student academic merit. Full-time, BBA and Specialized Masters degree-seeking Terry students are eligible pending admission to a Terry faculty-led program.
The Passport Terry scholarship program application is valid for several study away scholarships offered by Terry College supporters to the UGA Foundation. A sampling of funds that support Passport Terry scholarships include:
- Deer Run Global Fellows Program
- Susan Boyd Study Abroad Scholarship
- Joe Browne Passport Terry Endowment
- Lisa Sarajian Study Abroad Scholarship
- Shuman Family Shareholders Fund
- Bobby Friedmann Passport Terry Scholarship
- Jere W. Morehead & Phyllis Leffler Estate Fund
- Terry Excellence Fund
- Parents Leadership Council Fund
Deer Run Global Fellows
The Deer Run Global Fellows Scholarship provides scholarship funding for selected Terry College students who graduated from a Hall County high school to participate in Terry’s international business office’s study abroad programs. Created through the generosity of Gainesville natives Doug and Kay Ivester, the scholarship aims to provide exceptional learning opportunities to future generations of Terry business students.
All admitted Terry students who graduated from a Hall County high school and who apply to a qualifying Terry faculty-led or Terry-affiliated study away program are automatically considered for a Deer Run Global Fellows Scholarship.
