Marie-Claude (Maric) Boudreau

Biography
Dr. Marie-Claude (Maric) Boudreau is an Associate Professor of MIS at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. She held the position of MIS Department Head from 2012 to 2024. She received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University, a Diplôme d’Enseignement Supérieur Spécialisé from l’École Supérieure des Affaires de Grenoble (France), and an M.B.A. from l’Université Laval in Québec (Canada).
Her research focuses on how information technologies and information systems (IT/S), including integrated software packages and open-source software, can bring about organizational change. She has explored how IT/S drives organizational change, the consequences of IT/S implementation, and the interaction between human agency and technology in organizational settings. Additionally, she has explored the role of IT/S in promoting environmental sustainability, often referred to as Green IS or Energy Informatics. Within that stream of work, she has engaged in many interdisciplinary collaborations and secured numerous grants.
Dr. Boudreau’s scholarly work has been published in many journals, including Organization Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, The Academy of Management Executive, Information Technology & People, Journal of the AIS, and many conference proceedings.
Her teaching interests include the design and management of databases, business process management, and qualitative research.
