
Terry College came together on Nov. 22 to celebrate the dedication of the M. Douglas and V. Kay Ivester Institute for Business Analytics and Insights (IIBAI) — an ambitious new program seeking to expand analytics throughout business education.

It was a gray November 2023 afternoon, chilly and damp. But inside the Business Learning Community, the mood was festive and bright. A crowd gathered inside Amos Hall’s Casey Commons to celebrate a milestone for the Terry College of Business: the University of Georgia’s Department of Economics had a new name.

Six teams of Terry College Management Information Systems and FinTech Certificate students spent Oct. 13-14 at UGA’s Studio 225 in an immersive learning experience created and hosted by Truist. In the whirlwind of the supply chain, there is no standing still. To keep from being swept up, there must be constant movement by logistics caretakers: the operations bosses, the technology builders, the data miners, the finance experts and, of course, the higher-education scholars who prime the pump with talent.
