About this Scholarship
Lee Butts and his wife, Linda Anderson Butts, met at the University of Georgia while students in the Terry College of Business. They have many fond memories of their time in Athens and led a robust student life. Their best memories outside of their academic studies involve performing together in the UGA Redcoat Band, where Lee played trombone and Linda played flute and piccolo. The Butts remain active in the Redcoat Band Alumni Association.
Lee and Linda, very accomplished in the fields of technology and marketing, respectively, believe that a Redcoat Band member who graduates with a Terry College degree is well prepared for a successful career. Knowing the challenges band members face balancing academics with musical commitments, the Butts wish to award this scholarship to an active, deserving Terry student and Redcoat Band member who has displayed outstanding leadership skills.
