Terry MBA student wins Renewable Energy Award

First-year MBA student Erin Geoffroy was named to the 2014 OneEnergy Scholars class by OneEnergy Renewables, a developer of large-scale clean energy projects.

The award provides its seven recipients with recognition for their achievements, personalized career counseling, internship opportunities, and peer and professional networking opportunities.

Geoffroy, who studies marketing and corporate responsibility at Terry, hopes to become communications director for a renewable energy developer or environmental nonprofit organization after she graduates. She plans to use the award to connect with like-minded professionals to accelerate her career.

“My experience has shown me that our nation needs to employ pragmatic market-based solutions and innovative bi-partisan approaches to more effectively use our energy resources,” she said. “I’m committed to advocating for smarter energy policies that remove market barriers for entrepreneurs in clean tech and empower consumer to manage their energy usage more effectively.”

Students are selected for the award through their work with NetImpact, a student group that applies b-school skills to social and environmental causes. Terry’s Net Impact chapter received Gold Chapter standing last year.
