MIT program update

The new MIT cohort has just completed Data Management and Internet Technology. As student George Renzi posted in a reflection piece on his blog “[the courses] exposed me to many new business theories and technologies and set a solid groundwork for the scope of the MIT program. While the courses are geared towards the technological side, they also integrate business principles and techniques which are needed for future IT leaders to be successful in the business world.”

Our second year students began work on their two-semester long capstone projects in addition to studying customer experience strategy. The projects this time around include:

  • A mobile application that lets a contractor keep up with authorized on-site contractors for Consolidated Risk Solutions.
  • Sharepoint portal applications for BIAS Consulting
  • Building Terry mobile application for the Terry College of Business
  • User experience/social media support application for Megaplayer

A big thanks to our project sponsors who have worked with our students to gather requirements, define project scope, and help them move into the construction and implementation phases of the projects.

We ask that our industry partners keep the MIT program in their thoughts. We can always use guests from industry with expertise in Internet-related technologies to speak for our classes. If you are interested in speaking to a class or becoming a project sponsor check out the information and apply on our web site. Or, simply send an email to Craig Piercy. Finally, please consider our students and the strong knowledge-base they develop for your staffing needs. Remember, we will have a strong cohort of 21 tech-savvy, solutions-oriented professionals graduating in May!
