Jianxi Su

Biography
Jianxi Su is an Associate Professor in the C. Herman Terry Risk Management and Insurance Program at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. His research aims to advance decision-making in insurance and risk management through innovative applications of AI, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
Dr. Su is a staunch advocate for academic-industry and interdisciplinary collaborations. He has secured more than 20 competitive research grants from the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society over the course of ten years of his career. Many of these projects reflect his deep commitment to academic-industry collaboration.
Prior to joining the University of Georgia, Dr. Su spent ten years at Purdue University, where he joined as an Assistant Professor in 2016, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022, and then served as Director of Purdue’s actuarial science program since 2023. Beyond university service, Dr. Su is also passionate about contributing to the broader professional community. He has served on multiple education and research committees of the Society of Actuaries.
