MBUS radio show wins a GABBY award

“The Sound of Athens,” a one-hour radio program produced by Terry’s Music Business Program won a GABBY award for excellence from the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.

Aired on the university’s radio station, WUGA-FM, “The Sound of Athens” is hosted and produced by David Barbe, director of the MBUS program. It features music from live shows in Athens that are recorded and edited by students in the program.

“The Sound of Athens” was one of two GABBY award winners for WUGA-FM, the other was “High Shoals Drifter,” a weekly series of audio essays written and produced by Eddie dePeterse and narrated by Doug Hatch. This is the second consecutive year that “High Shoals Drifter” has received an award.
