Randy Groomes, director of professional and community engagement for Terry College, received the UGA President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award on Jan. 19. The award recognizes recognizes students, faculty, staff and local community members dedicated to fostering goodwill through civic engagement.

Senior lecturer brings the global market to the classroom

Johannes Kohler has stories and has learned lessons that today’s finance students — who’ve never seen a bear market — can hardly believe. As a senior lecturer in the finance department at the Terry College of Business, his job is to bridge the gap between Broad Street and Wall Street and help students learn the structure of the modern stock and bond markets.

Four Terry College professors receive 2025 faculty awards

The Terry College of Business presented its annual awards for outstanding teaching, research and service to four faculty members in December. The award winners were chosen based on nominations by their peers.

John Campbell, the Herbert E. Miller Chair in Financial Accounting and head of the Terry College of Business Department of Finance, is one of 13 new members on the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC).

More than 475 business and community leaders gathered at the Georgia Aquarium on Dec. 10, 2025 for the 43rd annual Georgia Economic Outlook. The national forecast was presented by Mark Mathews, chief economist at the National Retail Federation, and the state forecast was presented by Terry College of Business Interim Dean Santanu Chatterjee.

Georgia’s economy, like the nation’s, will hold steady in 2026

UGA’s Georgia Economic Outlook report included a projection for a 1.5% growth rate in 2026. That slow rate of growth, along with some economic headwinds facing the nation, will keep the risk of a recession at an elevated level next year.
