Financial Assistance
Scholarships + Assistantships
All applicants are considered for scholarships and assistantships and notified of awards when accepted. We offer generous merit aid to the most qualified students because we value your intellectual ability and professional accomplishments.
Need-Based Financial Aid
Domestic students requiring need-based financial assistance should apply for available need-based federal loans and grants before applying for private education loans. International students with U.S. co-signors can apply for private education loans. The University does not endorse or recommend any private education (alternative) loan company.
The UGA Office of Student Financial Aid outlines the application process for incoming students and provides a detailed FAQ to answer common questions. This process starts with filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which can be done online and should be done as soon as you file your taxes. The FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) determines your eligibility for federal loans and grants.
