Concentrations and Areas of Focus

Our core courses provide you with a solid foundation of general management principles and best practices. However, in today’s challenging business environment, employers are looking for expertise – your expertise – to build and sustain their success. Increasingly, MBA graduates need to specialize their skills and knowledge. Our market-driven concentrations options, and areas of focus in Strategy, FinTech, and Social Innovation enable you to expand your skills and add value to your future employers.

Your specialization options are how you position yourself in the internship and job search. They are signals on your resume so employers will understand your areas of expertise. Because of that, our concentrations and areas of focus – much like our applied learning opportunities – present students with a menu of options and the flexibility to design their program of study. The required courses and electives within each concentration are designed with enough overlap so that our students can complete two concentrations, combine two or three, and/or layer in an area of focus and customize their academic experience. Working closely with Student Engagement and Career Management, we help you align your academic path with your career goals.

Our Concentrations and Areas of Focus

Custom Concentration

The flexibility of our curriculum allows many students to customize their concentration, complete or combine two concentrations, and/or add a Focus in Strategy, FinTech, or Social Innovation. We can help you make the right choices to succeed in achieving your career goals.

For students who are interested in analytics careers and want more extensive preparation, we offer an MBA-MSBA STEM Track. A deeper dive than our Business Analytics concentration, students earn two degrees in two years – our traditional MBA plus our STEM-certified Master of Science in Business Analytics which provides eligibility for a three-year U.S. work permit upon graduation.
