Getting to Athens

Travelers to Athens from outside Georgia typically fly into Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. From there it is about a 90-minute drive (add 15-30 minutes during rush hour) into Athens by car. The most common modes are car rental and shuttle. There are many car rental options from the airport, and this is the most popular option for most visitors. Parking is available at each of the conference hotels, but parking on campus is very limited and not practical for conference participants. Groome Transportation is the best option for shuttle service from the airport, with hourly airport shuttles to and from Athens. Groome Transportation will drop you off at any of the conference hotels on arrival in Athens, and also departs from the hotels for the return trip to the airport. It is best to reserve spots on the shuttle before you arrive in Atlanta.
