The Economics Department offers two options for earning an Economics degree, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. While both the BBA degree and AB degree require the same economics courses, the AB requires electives in liberal arts education while the BBA requires business electives.
The Economics Department offers a Bachelor’s/Master’s (AB/MA) degree for current UGA undergraduates through the Double Dawgs Program. The AB/MA program is designed for students who plan to pursue a PhD program in economics, finance, public policy, or statistics or who are looking for private- or public-sector positions that require significant technical research skills.
The PhD program in Economics provides in-depth, rigorous training in the theory and application of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics. Entering students aim for research and teaching careers in academia or research-oriented positions in government, consulting, or private industry. Faculty members work closely with PhD students, generating a collaborative, stimulating intellectual environment.
