Biography
Janine Elyse Aronson is a professor of Management Information Systems. She earned her B.S. in Electrical Engineering, M.S. in Electrical Engineering, M.S. in Operations Research, and Ph.D. in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University. Her research areas include artificial intelligence (in finance), decision making, business intelligence, business analytics, knowledge management, and network optimization. She has taught courses at several institutions overseas, notably in France, The Netherlands, China, and Colombia. Dr. Aronson authored over 50 refereed papers appearing in leading journals, wrote five books, and contributes to professional encyclopedias. Dr. Aronson regularly attends and speaks at international and national conferences. She has been a consultant to major international corporations and organizations. For a United Nations Development Program consulting job, she developed a model of the Chinese economy that ended a 40 year drought affecting 105 million people; and for another consulting job, increased the annual profit of a central Georgia clay producer by $20 million, boosting it to $180 million. These are but two of her most important professional achievements.
She is a professional magician, actor, improvisational comedy actor, musician, singer/songwriter, photographer, writer, poet, and more. Her hobbies include learning languages, photography, bicycling, motorcycling, playing bagpipes, guitar, ukulele, and more.
