Aaron Schecter

Aaron Schecter is an Associate Professor of Management Information Systems at the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business. Dr. Schecter received his undergraduate and masters degrees in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Northwestern University. He has received several awards for his research and teaching, including the Hackman Dissertation award for group research, the Young Investigator award from the US Army Research Office, and a Lilly Teaching Fellowship at the University of Georgia.

Dr. Schecter’s work has been published in top outlets such as MIS Quarterly, Research Policy, and the Journal of Operations Management. His research has been supported by grants from the US Army and NASA. Dr. Schecter’s current research focus is on how technologies change the way people make decisions, solve problems, and coordinate with others. In particular, he is interested in human-machine interaction, machine learning and AI, open source software, and social networks.
