Who We Are

Members of the Terry Student Diversity Advocacy Council (TSDAC) are bright, dynamic leaders who excel at engaging their peers to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment at the Terry College of Business. As key influencers within the college, TSDAC members encourage diversity of thought and facilitate discussions to promote greater understanding and personal accountability among students.

What We Do

The Terry College of Business is committed to increasing the number of underrepresented students to further enhance academic excellence. As part of this mission, TSDAC plays a central role in hosting groups of prospective students for campus tours and panel discussions.

In addition, TSDAC collectively monitors the pulse of the Terry student body, provides direction to the Office of Diversity Relations on program ideas and issues affecting the UGA community, and offers guidance to the administration in responding to major events happening on campus or in the media. Members also give back to Athens and Atlanta-area communities by conducting value-added workshops that showcase the great opportunities UGA offers.

Events and Initiatives

TSDAC seeks to celebrate diversity in a fun, engaging, and educational way. In this spirit, it hosts welcome-back events at the beginning of each semester. In the fall, the Diversity Block Party features food from various countries, cultural performances, and a DJ for those who like to dance. The spring semester kicks off with the Terry Night-In, featuring a distinct and spirited theme each year, including “Survivor” and casino night.

The council offers INTERACT Workshops throughout the year, providing participants with the confidence and skill set to meet new people and build relationships across a wide spectrum of backgrounds.

TSDAC members also promote engagement among Terry’s many student organizations. Held at the Amicalola Falls Lodge, the Terry Diversity Leadership Summit provides a great opportunity for student leaders to get to know each other and share best practices.
