About Me
I earned my doctoral degree in Management Information Systems from The University of Georgia in August, 2007. Currently, I am the Genevieve Albers Visiting Fellow in the Department of Management at the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University.
My primary research interest is Knowledge Management. My dissertation, entitled "Enhancing Knowledge Transfer through Nurturing Cognitive Flexibility," addressed two critical and related challenges in knowledge management - the maintenance and transfer (as in the sense of application) of existing knowledge. Some of this work has been published in conference proceedings. My other research interests include e-Commerce and IT-enabled change in work and organizations, and accurate forecasting high frequency shifts in consumer demand. Currently, I am collaborating with other researchers investigating trust-building mechanisms for consumer-to-consumer (C2C) online transaction platforms and file sharing technologies and their impacts on music downloads.
Both prior to and after joining the Ph.D. program in Georgia, I had business consulting experiences with several U.S. companies, including the Ameritrade Holding Corporation, Union Pacific, and WhyDataWorks, a Providence, RI-based consulting firm. At Ameritrade, I helped to create the Ameritrade Online Investor Index™, which has been live online (at www.ameritradeindex.com) since 1999.
I have developed a strong and well-balanced teaching portfolio. The MIS courses that I have taught include Data Management, Web-based Application Development, Computer Programming in Business, Introduction to Information Systems, and System Analysis and Design. In 2005, I won the Graduate Teaching Portfolio Award of The University of Georgia.
