Dr. Zinkhan is the Coca-Cola Professor of Marketing and Department Head at the University of Georgia. Since receiving his M.B.A. in Operations Research (1979) and Ph.D. (1981) from the University of Michigan, he has published more than 140 articles in the areas of advertising, promotion, knowledge development, and electronic commerce. These articles have appeared in such publications as the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Advertising, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Social Psychology, Journal of Advertising Research, Decision Sciences, Communications of the ACM and others. He has been named as one of the Top Twelve Lifetime Contributors of the Advertising Literature (in 1990 by the Journal of Advertising) and as one of the Top Twenty-five Contributors to the Marketing Literature (in 1985 by the Journal of Marketing Education). Besides teaching at the University of Michigan, he has also been a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Business, and at the University of Houston, where he was the Conn Appliances Professor Marketing. Professor Zinkhan recently completed a four-year term as editor of the Journal of Advertising, and a three-year term as book review editor for the Journal of Marketing. Among his consulting clients are Citicorp, Intermedics, Inc., and the Federal Trade Commission, Division of Advertising Practice. He is currently serving as the President of the Advertising Special Interest Group for the American Marketing Association Academic Council.
