Teamwork accounts for one-fifth of your total grade.  Team activities include 4-6 small homework assignments and a case analysis.  Collectively the small assignments amount to one-half of your teamwork grade; the case analysis represents the other half. 

Case Analysis

The case analysis will report on the HRM policy of a local or regional employer.  Each team will select a firm and analyze an aspect of its HRM policy that relates one of the broad areas of this course: selection, organizational design and motivation.  There are 2 deliverables:

(1) A 15 12-minute oral presentation
(2) A 4-6 page paper

Each presentation should contain the following elements:

(a) Background on the company
(b) Description of the HRM issue(s)
(c) Economic analysis of the pertinent company policy

The paper should provide a full description and critical analysis; it should not be a rehash of the presentation slides.  The presentation and paper will have equal weight in my assessment of your case analysis.

Case approval requires the name of the firm, identification of the HRM issue(s) and the contact information of a firm employee who can speak authoritatively to the issue(s).

Teamwork Grade and Peer Evaluation

Your overall teamwork grade will be determined as follows:

Teamwork Score .67
Peer Evaluation .33

You are required to turn in a completed peer review form for each of your team members on the date of your presentation.  Your review should encompass all team activities.
