NATURE OF WORK
This is routine work performing caretaking responsibilities at an institution recreational facility.
Work involves responsibility for a variety of maintenance, custodial, and concession tasks. Responsibilities may include the rental of equipment and physical appearance of surrounding facilities. Duties are of routine difficulty and are performed under general supervision. Technical supervision may be exercised over others.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK
Meets the public, gives information about use of facilities, rules, regulations, and related information; collects fees, sells, confections; rents equipment and completes sales and rental reports.
Cuts grass, paints facilities, adjusts and makes minor repairs to equipment; maintains general appearance of area of responsibility.
Makes recommendations for improvement of services, supplies, and replacement of equipment.
Issues permits; operates mechanical goofball picker and refinishes golf clubs.
Performs related work as required.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Some knowledge of handling cash and maintaining simple records.
Ability to manage the operations of a concession.
Ability to maintain effective public relations with visitors.
DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school, and some experience in meeting the public.
