NATURE OF WORK

This is general clerical and data processing machinery operation and maintenance work.

Work involves transporting items to locations other than the base of operations, as well as the general cleaning of electronic data processing machinery. An employee allocated to this class operates the less complicated peripheral electronic date processing equipment. Work is performed under supervision of a higher level employee.

 

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK

Delivers and picks up source data from points located away from the employee's base of operation.

Places input data into a data processing machine.

Moves punched cards from one file or location to another.

Cleans data processing machinery following prescribed instructions.

Performs related work as required.

 

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

Some knowledge of standard clerical techniques.

Ability to learn machine cleaning methods and techniques.

Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.

Ability to maintain effective relations with other employees as necessitated by work assignments.

 

DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from a standard high school; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
