NATURE OF WORK

This is responsible clerical and supervisory work in the duplication and mailing of large quantities of printed publications.

Work involves performance of varied clerical and office management duties in a printing and mailing center. The employee supervises and participates in performing duties such as wrapping packages, addressing envelopes, and mailing publications. Some duplication machine operation is also performed. The employee works under general supervision. Work is reviewed by an administrative superior through observation of results.

 

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK

Supervises and participates in the addressing, packaging, and distribution by mail of large quantities of publications on a regularly scheduled basis.

Supervises and participates in the duplication of office forms, cards, leaflets, and letterheads.

Purchases supplies and equipment; operates, services, and maintains duplicators, paper cutters, and other standard office machines.

Performs related work as required.

 

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

Considerable knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.

Considerable knowledge of standard clerical practices.

Ability to operate and maintain duplicating machines and other standard office equipment.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates and other employees.

 

DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from a standard high school, supplemented by courses in duplicating machine operations; and some clerical and duplicating machine operation experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
