David P. Stockert is Chief Executive Officer, President and a Director of Post Properties, Inc. Post is a leading high-quality multifamily housing company headquartered in Atlanta. The company has operations in nine major markets.

Stockert previously served as EVP, Acquisitions/Dispositions of Duke Realty, and as Chief Financial Officer of Weeks Corporation. He was instrumental in the 1999 merger of Weeks and Duke that formed a $5.5 billion office and industrial real estate company with operations in 16 cities. In addition, Stockert has a background in investment banking, where he was involved in capital markets and M&A transactions totaling more than $4.5 billion, and as a CPA. He earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado in 1984, and completed his MBA at Columbia University in 1990.

Stockert is on the Boards of Directors of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the National Multi-Housing Council, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, Central Atlanta Progress, Holy Innocents' Episcopal School and SafeHouse Outreach Ministries. He is an active member of the Buckhead Coalition, the Atlanta Apartment Association Government Affairs Committee, the Advisory Boards of Georgia Special Olympics, Emmaus House and the Grady Hospital Board of Visitors. Stockert also chaired the Land Use Task Force of the BeltLine Partnership.
