Shirley Franklin was elected the first African-American woman mayor of a major southern city in 2002 and served two terms until 2009. She became known for tackling major government operations and ethics reform, developing successful public and private sector partnerships, launching the Atlanta Beltline, forming the Regional Commission on Homelessness, and securing $5 billion in airport and water infrastructure improvements. Upon leaving office, she was appointed to the William and Camille Cosby Endowed Chair at Spelman College and served in this capacity until June 2010. She currently serves as the chairman of the board of directors and CEO of Purpose Built Communities and as president of Clarke-Franklin and Associates Inc. Aside from her role as a public official, her community service spans more than 39 years in Atlanta and includes her active participation in the arts, homelessness and higher education for disadvantaged youth.
Tim Chapman

Tim Chapman co-founded Stadion in 1991, having begun his investment career in 1981 while studying economics at the University of Georgia. In 1991, he helped create the technology-driven actively managed investment model that is the cornerstone of Stadion’s investment management success. Several years later, Chapman launched Stadion Retirement, which brought Stadion’s ‘win by not losing’ investment strategy to 401(k) plan participants nationwide. Stadion now manages account services and investment funds for more than 100,000 401(k) investors. Based in Watkinsville, Ga., Stadion’s significant work in developing its investment model and supporting retirement plan participants has brought national recognition to the company and to Chapman, including being named Defined Contribution News Advice Provider of the Year and a cover article in Investment Advisor magazine. Chapman is a noted speaker on financial planning and investment management topics at industry conferences.
Timothy M. Adams
Chief Private Brands Officer, Macy’s Inc.

Timothy Adams is chief private brands officer of Macy’s Inc. (formerly known as Federated Department Stores), a position he’s held since February 2009. He is responsible for overseeing the concepts, designs, marketing and other aspects of Macy’s retail portfolio of private brands, including apparel, accessories and home goods. From July 2005 to February 2009, Adams served as chairman and CEO of Macy’s Home Store. Prior to joining Macy’s Home Store, Adams was chairman and CEO of Macy’s Florida in Miami from 2001 to 2005. Adams began his retailing career in 1976 at Macy’s South in Atlanta. He joined Macy’s West in San Francisco in 1989 as a merchandise administrator and held positions of increasing responsibility. He was named president of The Bon Marché in Seattle in March 1998. A native of Atlanta, Adams is a graduate of the Terry College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He and his wife, Jeanette, live in New York City.
Jay Gould

Jay Gould is President & Chief Executive Officer of American Standard Brands. Formerly, he served as group president of the “Home & Family” segment of Newell Rubbermaid, which includes well-known brands such as Rubbermaid, Graco, Levolor and Calphalon. That segment accounts for more than $2.4 billion in sales and over $300 million in operating income. Originally, he joined Newell Rubbermaid as president of the “Baby & Parenting” global unit, where he led strong sales growth and acquired three companies, including the Japanese brand Aprica. Prior to joining Newell, Gould worked in the consumer products industry in brand management and general management roles at Campbell Soup, The Coca-Cola Co., and General Mills.
Gould has a 25-year record of value creation by building brands and organizations around the world. His experience with re-stimulating growth of billion dollar brands and driving consumer-inspired innovation give him the leadership insight to transform companies.
