The Terry Mentor Program served as a superior tool to segway from a student to a young professional.
- What resources did you use or would you like to encourage other students to use?
-
I utilized the Terry Mentor Program, which pairs young alumni with current students in the Terry College.
- Please explain your overall experience with the Terry College of Business and its services.
-
I found the mentor program to be very helpful in a number of ways. I found a real-life mentor to help me with problems in which I felt comfortable asking. I realized that this person was there to help me with whatever it was that I needed help with — from interviewing tips, to resume critiquing, to keeping nerves in a professional setting of which I was not accustomed. The Terry Mentor Program served as a superior tool to segway from a student to a young professional.
- What are your career/future plans?
-
After graduation, I plan to work for a few years to gain business experience. I will undoubtedly go back to school to acheive an MBA, and I plan to get into consulting when I have all of school behind me.
- What advice do you have for students?
-
I think that all students should consider the Terry Mentor Program and see what it can do for them. We all have different goals and what is so good about this program is that it enables you to personalize these goals and talk one on one with someone who has recently been in your shoes and can provide valuable feedback and advice.
