My best advice to current Terry students is to network. Networking exposes students to many different career fields and many different people. Until you meet all kinds of people, in all different fields of business, you will never truly know where you belong.
After graduation in May 2011, I took on the role as an Analyst for JWT, formerly known as J. Walter Thompson. I intend to stay in the marketing analytics field as it grows, hoping that my career and abilities grow as fast as the rapidly-growing industry does.
Throughout my experience with Terry College, my greatest resources were my professors. Having professors that have "real world" experience, and the passion to truly relate and teach students, is the ultimate service that Terry College provides, in addition to the many networking events, panels, and technological resources provided.
I would also encourage students to use DAWGlink, the University’s online recruiting board. I received my first internship relevant to the field I am in now from a DAWGlink posting, and I essentially owe my current success to that resource.

Until you meet all kinds of people, in all different fields of business, you will never truly know where you belong. Networking and stepping outside-the-box allowed me to land in a field that is not directly related to my major, per se, but has enabled me to be happy and thrive under the notion of actually enjoying the work I do, and consequently, the effort I put forth.
