Success Stories

Sam Doan

Networking is an essential component to obtaining a successful career, so I encourage students to stay connected and diversify their social circles.

I cannot emphasize the endless opportunities that the Terry College of Business, particularly the MIS Department, has given me. As a Terry student, I was able to obtain five internships from Fortune 100 Companies before getting my full-time career placement as a consultant for Microsoft.

Some of the resources I utilized include Terry networking events such as Alumni Panels and Terry Talks, Diversity Business Expo and the Society for Management Information Systems. Networking is an essential component to obtaining a successful career, so I encourage students to stay connected and diversify their social circles.

In the near future, I plan to continue my education by pursing my MBA at an Ivy League College. Additionally, I would like to operate my own E-commerce business one day. One piece of advice I have for Terry students is to follow their passion and never lose the desire to be successful.
