Leadership Activities and Student Groups
Terry Ambassador Program

Ambassadors of the Terry College promote pride and diversity within Terry and help increase understanding of the various programs available to students in the College. This year, students will be chosen to be the primary student communicators for Terry and to develop their leadership abilities for future professional roles.
These students will represent Terry at a variety of collegewide events such as Development and Alumni functions, New Student Welcome Event, career fairs and Economic Outlook events around the state. They will also have direct interaction with the Terry College Alumni Board and Young Alumni Board.

Terry Mentor Program
This project of the Terry Young Alumni Board and the Terry College Office of Undergraduate Student Services and Corporate Relations connects current Terry undergraduate students with Terry alumni. The program gives current students a “real world” contact to begin their own networks. Through mentoring, students will gain knowledge, skills and insights that will enhance their experience as students and alumni of the Terry College of Business.

Alumni Panels
Terry Alumni Panels provide a great opportunity to meet Terry students and alumni and receive advice about many different topics. The Terry College Young Alumni Board, student ambassadors and Office of Undergraduate Student Services and Corporate Relations host four alumni panels each semester.
Career Fairs
Career Fairs are the best way to meet recruiters and learn about possible internship and full-time employment opportunities. Please visit the UGA Career Center to learn more about these events and what you can do to prepare for a great first impression.

Terry Graduation Convocation
Terry College hosts a graduation convocation ceremony each spring to recognize all Terry graduates from fall, spring and summer semesters. At this special ceremony, graduates will walk across the stage and be recognized individually for their degree. There is no limit on invited guest, so all friend and family can share this special occasion with their graduate. The ceremony is immediate followed by a reception.
Terry Honors Day
Honors Day gives public recognition to students who achieve high scholastic records and demonstrate excellence in their academic endeavors. Each year graduate and undergraduate recipients of named scholarships are honored at this special Terry College event, as well as inductees to Sigma Iota Epsilon and Beta Gamma Sigma business societies.
Terry Leadership Speaker Series
The Terry Leadership Speaker Series presented by the Institute for Leadership Advancement brings well-known leaders from a variety of organizations to the Terry College of Business and the University of Georgia. In these student-oriented forums, leaders are asked to discuss their unique leadership styles and experiences.
Terry Talks
The purpose of Terry Talks is to connect Terry students with alumni in different fields. These small group events serve to develop students and connect them with alumni in those professions that they seek to explore. By providing a more personal experience, Terry Talks events give students an opportunity to network with these alumni on an individual level.
Terry Third Thursday
Terry Third Thursday is an executive speaker series for the Atlanta business community and is sponsored by Terry College's Office of Development and Alumni Relations. This event is held at the Terry Executive Education Center in Buckhead. Third Thursday programs feature influential speakers, as well as special guests from the University of Georgia, who bring local and global perspectives on business and innovation. Terry students may attend for free.

Certificate Program

Entrepreneurship
The Entrepreneurship program at Terry College the only entrepreneurship program in the country exclusively focused on launching successful student ventures. With outstanding curriculum, networking opportunities, practical seminars and an array of other inspirational resources—plus mentoring by the most seasoned entrepreneurs in the southeast—we arm the next generation of entrepreneurs with the tools for success.
Leadership Advancement
Certificate Program
The Leonard Leadership Scholars Program is a highly selective two-year leadership development program designed exclusively for Terry undergraduates. The program provides personalized leadership training through innovative courses, enriching extra-curricular activities, and challenging service opportunities. The student commitment creates and sustains a strong servant-leader culture that binds all of the program elements and is a large part of the Leonard "brand."

Music Business
Certificate Program
Georgia really has it all—the storied Athens rock scene, the wildly successful R&B and Hip-Hop of Atlanta, internationally known country, jazz, and classical artists. This myriad of artists and genres make the Georgia music scene key in the growing international music business. In response to this growth, the Music Business Certificate Program was established in 2006 to train the future leaders of this booming industry.
Study Abroad
The goal of international programs at the Terry College of Business is to foster a global perspective in every academic discipline in the college and in every academic program. Toward this end, Terry offers study abroad and exchange opportunities, employing the expertise of faculty, staff and travel professionals both here and abroad, to give students the preparation to succeed in international business. Students are exposed not only to academic class work, but also to business visits to a variety of on-going enterprises and to unique cultural experiences.

Alpha Kappa Psi
National Business Fraternity
Alpha Kappa Psi’s Mission is to develop well trained, ethical, skilled, resourceful and experienced business leaders. Our overall goal is a special one: the preparation of men and women for future success. Colleges and universities teach valuable lessons in the classroom. However, the living laboratory of Alpha Kappa Psi gives our collegians the practice they need in developing advanced communication skills, a true understanding of the value of teamwork, and firsthand experience with the unique challenges of motivating a team project.
Banking and Finance Society
The Banking and Finance Society is an active business organization that provides its members with valuable information and contacts. Its main objectives are to maintain communications between the business community and the academic world and to introduce and broaden network opportunities for students. The Banking and Finance Society meetings generally take place in the evening, and they have a variety of content, including professional speakers, career advice and strategies, and social events.

Beta Alpha Psi is a national scholastic and professional fraternity. The purpose of Beta Alpha Psi includes advancing the study and practice of accounting by providing opportunities for self development and by promoting association among members and professional accountants.
Delta Sigma Pi
Professional Business Fraternity
Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.
Economics Society
The Economics Society of the University of Georgia is dedicated to fostering interest in the field of economics through guest speakers, field trips, volunteer activities, and student-faculty interactions. Individuals from all fields, ages and affiliations are welcome to join.
Gamma Iota Sigma
Gamma Iota Sigma is the international collegiate professional fraternity for students pursuing careers in Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science. Our purpose is to promote, encourage and sustain student interest in these fields and to facilitate interaction of educational institutions and the industry by facilitating networking, research activities, scholarship and improved public relations.
Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc.
Gamma Phi Delta, Inc. is a life member of the National Council of Negro Women and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The purpose of the sorority is to unite fraternally for charitable, educational and fraternal purposes, foster the improvement of the educational and vocational status of young people, with special emphasis on underprivileged youth, through encouragement, dissemination of information and financial assisstance.
Insurance Society
All Risk Management and Insurance majors are strongly encouraged to join the Insurance Society as membership makes the student eligible for scholarship awards and also entitles the student to free attendance at the Careers Day program and the Spring Awards Banquet. In addition, only members of the Insurance Society are entitled to submit resumes for inclusion in the departmental resume book.
International Business Society
The International Business Society is a student-led organization that fosters collegiality among international business majors and any students interested in activities that cultivate an international perspective and networking opportunities in the arena of international business.
Management Society
The Management Society provides a professional organization for students to gain knowledge and insight into the business world, acquaints students considering a future in the field of management, and keeps students up-to-date on new developments in the management field.
Pi Sigma Epsilon
Pi Sigma Epsilon, the only national, professional fraternity in marketing, sales management and selling, is the way to get the competitive edge in the field of marketing, sales management and selling.
The Professional Entertainment and Sports Association
The mission of PESA is to provide a professional network for highly motivated and passionate students who are committed to the pursuit of business careers in the many fields within the mass media, entertainment or sporting industries.
Real Estate Society
All real estate majors are strongly encouraged to join this organization as membership makes them eligible for scholarship awards and to submit a resume for the departmental resume book. Industry experts visit one meeting a semester to provide insight into their particular job, how they developed their career, and where they got started.
Society for Management Information Systems
The Society for Management Information Systems (SMIS) is devoted to cultivating relationships among students, faculty, and industry representatives in the field of computing and information systems. SMIS frequently hosts company presentations, resume and interview workshops, an annual formal recruiting dinner, alumni functions and much more.
Students In Free Enterprise (UGA SIFE)
UGA SIFE’s mission is to twofold: to empower the people of Athens & to help students gain internship and job opportunities and become better leaders. While partnering with our global company partners, UGA SIFE creates and implements community service projectsto make a positive & long-lasting impact in the community while building relationships with recruiters and business professionals.
Terry Student Consulting
Terry Student Consulting (TSC) is a society for undergraduate business and pre-business students interested in gaining real-world experience with clients, networking opportunities, and professional development. Students will be working in small, fast-paced teams, face to face with business representatives to actively create business solutions. Students will have the opportunity to take on leadership roles as Executive Officers, Case Teams Leaders, and Analysts. TSC provides students with unparalleled experience, equipping them with vital skills sought after in interviews and recruitment by top firms.
Women in Business
This organization aims to help members develop valuable skills needed to be successful in a business setting, such as time-management skills, communication skills, and leadership skills. Women in Business is a great way to start networking with professional women while building friendships between other students interested in business.
