Sometimes there’s nothing wrong with being called a sellout, especially when it’s within the context of ticket sales. The Terry College of Business 2011 Professional Women’s Conference was proud to claim that status when it sold out its Nov. 18 event at the Georgia Center in Athens. View photo gallery »

A total of 150 professionals and 50 students spent the day networking and gaining insight from female executive speakers and discussion panels. The conference featured separate professional and student tracks that included discussions and presentations on salary negotiation, transitioning to a new career, business etiquette for life after college, and paying it forward as a mentor.

The keynote speaker was Alice Lusk, the founding partner of the advanced technology development company Lusk-Moore Associates. Lusk spent 20 years at Electronic Data Systems and held nearly every job function from systems engineer to national sales director and corporate vice president.

From there she became a corporate officer and group executive for the Healthcare and Insurance Group, followed by senior executive roles at NCR. Before creating Lusk-Moore Associates, she was Universal Studio’s chief technology officer.

The 2012 conference will be Friday, Nov. 2 and the keynote speaker will be Procter & Gamble’s Gina Drosos (BBA ‘85), recently named one of Fortune’s “40 Most Powerful Women.”
