MMR Anniversary and Research Summit
Friends and alumni of the Masters of Marketing Research program gathered to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the program and host a research summit.

IRS's Adrian Project
Students taking a Maymester course in forensic accounting found out what it's like to be criminal investigators with the IRS during a simulated fraud investigation at UGA. Real-life IRS agents role-playing as tax cheats put the students through their paces.

Terry Leadership Speaker Series
Dan T. Cathy, president and chief operating officer of Chick-fil-A, spoke to a University of Georgia audience March 4, 2011, at the Chapel. He talked about his leadership philosophy and Chick-fil-A’s restaurants as a “place of restoration” where the company fulfills its mission to have a positive influence on every customer who comes in contact with their business.

Professional Women’s Conference
When Anne Ruth Moore graduated from the School of Commerce in 1922, she faced all sorts of workplace stereotypes – even in the yearbook! “Today we know, for instance, that more businesses are launched by women than men,” says Allison O’Kelly, founder and CEO of Mom Corps staffing service and a Terry Alumni Board member. “So, yes, we have come a long way, but struggles remain.”

CFO Roundtable 2009 Year-End Dinner
Terry College of Business Dean Robert T. Sumichrast addressed some 150 Atlanta-area senior finance executives on Nov. 19 at the CFO Roundtable's 2009 Year-End Dinner and CFO of the Year award presentation. Sumichrast praised the nationally recognized roundtable program in remarks preceding a keynote address by Ray G. Young, who at the time of his speech was nearing the end of a tumultuous year as chief financial officer of General Motors Co.

UGA Tribute to Otis Redding
At first blush, Athens isn't a town that's readily connected to '60s soul music sensation Otis Redding, a member of both the Rock and Roll and Georgia Music halls of fame.

Stimulus Discussion Panel
On Wednesday, February 18, the Economics Society sponsored a panel discussion of the recently passed stimulus plan, with Professors Bill Lastrapes (Economics), Greg Trandel (Economics) and Robert Grafstein (Political Science) serving as the panelists.

Financial Crisis Panel
On October 8 the Terry College sponsored a panel discussion of the current financial crisis. The panelists — Professors Bill Lastrapes (Economics), Jim Kau (Real Estate) and Chris Stivers (Finance) — addressed a standing-room only crowd of over 400 gathered in SLC 101 to hear "what just happened". Or, as Lastrapes correctly put it, "what is going on".

2008 Alumni Awards and Gala
When the inaugural Alumni Awards and Gala was held in May 2007, the Terry College wasn't sure it would be an annual event. But 560 alumni and friends showed up at the Westin Buckhead that night, and they had a rousing good time — thanks in part to the efforts of Gov. Sonny Perdue, who worked the auction floor as though he were prying votes out of delegates at a political convention.

Terry Leadership Speaker Series
James H. Blanchard, retired chairman and CEO of Synovus, will present an executive lecture on leadership at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, in room 248 of the University of Georgia's Student Learning Center.
