Tim Chapman co-founded Stadion in 1991, having begun his investment career in 1981 while studying economics at the University of Georgia. In 1991, he helped create the technology-driven actively managed investment model that is the cornerstone of Stadion’s investment management success. Several years later, Chapman launched Stadion Retirement, which brought Stadion’s ‘win by not losing’ investment strategy to 401(k) plan participants nationwide. Stadion now manages account services and investment funds for more than 100,000 401(k) investors. Based in Watkinsville, Ga., Stadion’s significant work in developing its investment model and supporting retirement plan participants has brought national recognition to the company and to Chapman, including being named Defined Contribution News Advice Provider of the Year and a cover article in Investment Advisor magazine. Chapman is a noted speaker on financial planning and investment management topics at industry conferences.
