Sonny Seiler (BBA 1956, JD 1957) is the owner of the line of white English bulldogs that have served as the University of Georgia's mascots since 1956.
He is an internationally known attorney who represented Jim Williams in the murder trial made famous in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Both Sonny and Uga V appeared in Clint Eastwood's film version with Sonny playing the judge in the Williams case.
Sonny lives and practices law in his hometown of Savannah. He is a past president of the State Bar of Georgia and the UGA National Alumni Association. Sonny and Terry Magazine editor Kent Hannon are the co-authors of Damn Good Dogs! (Sports Publishing LLC, 2006), which chronicles the history of Georgia's bulldog mascots.
