All graduate students who have no prior teaching experience at the college level must enroll before they are allowed to begin their assigned teaching responsibility.

Link Handbook for Graduate TAs
The TA Handbook is provided for all graduate students with instructional responsibilities. It gives general information about teaching in the undergraduate classroom at the University of Georgia and a list of teaching resources.


Link ELAN 7768 and 7769
These courses are designed specifically for international graduate students whose native language is not English and who wish to work as graduate teaching assistants. Use this link to determine if you are required to complete these courses.


Link Classroom Conduct
Teaching Assistants are expected to adhere to all general rules outlined in the Handbook for Graduate Teaching Assistants (above) and the rules outlined in this link.

Online Orientation: Assistantship Responsibilities

Teaching Assistants Orientation
All new graduate students who will have instructional responsibilities are required to attend the Teaching Assistants Orientation before the beginning of fall semester classes. Even if you will not be teaching during this academic year, you will probably be teaching some time during your program. Returning graduate students are encouraged to attend sessions of interest.
