All graduate students who have no prior teaching experience at the college level must enroll before they are allowed to begin their assigned teaching responsibility.
The TA Handbook is provided for all graduate students with instructional responsibilities. It gives general information about teaching in the undergraduate classroom at the University of Georgia and a list of teaching resources.
These courses are designed specifically for international graduate students whose native language is not English and who wish to work as graduate teaching assistants. Use this link to determine if you are required to complete these courses.
Teaching Assistants are expected to adhere to all general rules outlined in the Handbook for Graduate Teaching Assistants (above) and the rules outlined in this link.
Teaching Assistant Support, coordinated by the Office of Instructional Support and Development, is dedicated to providing instructional support for the pedagogical development of graduate assistants in preparation for instructional responsibilities at the University of Georgia and future careers.
Teaching Assistants Orientation All new graduate students who will have instructional responsibilities are required to attend the Teaching Assistants Orientation before the beginning of fall semester classes. Even if you will not be teaching during this academic year, you will probably be teaching some time during your program. Returning graduate students are encouraged to attend sessions of interest.
