Problem: The projector does not come on.
Make sure that the Sharp remote is turned on. The Sharp remote
has a power switch on its right side. Move the switch into the On position
and try to turn the projector on again.
Problem: The projector still does not come on.
The projector might have been turned off recently and is still
in its shutdown cycle. The shutdown cycle lasts up to five minutes. Wait
for a few minutes and try again.
Problem: The projector still does not come on.
The batteries in the Sharp remote may be dead. There should be
a spare set of batteries in the computer cabinet with which you can replace
the old batteries. If there are no spare batteries, report this to the
TCB Helpdesk located in Sanford 304 or by phone at 542-6799.

Problem: The projector does not show anything and/or there is
no sound.
In this room, the projector also has speakers for the audio.
Make sure that the projector is on. Point the Sharp remote at the projector
and press the On button. If the two lights on the front of the projector
are green, then the projector is on. If the projector will not come on,
then report this problem to the TCB Helpdesk located in Sanford 304 or
by phone at 542-6799.
Problem: The projector still does not show anything and/or there
is still no sound.
Make sure that the Main Computer/Laptop switchbox is set to “Main
Computer”. The Main Computer/Laptop switchbox is located on the
bottom shelf inside the computer cabinet. Switch it to the “A”
or “Main Computer” position, if it is not already.
Problem: The projector still does not show anything and/or there
is still no sound.
Make sure that the audio/video cables from the lectern are plugged
into their wall panel. There are five cables that come out of the lectern
and go to a special wall panel with five receptacles. These cables carry
the audio and video signals from the computer/laptop and VCR to the projector.
If any of these are unplugged, then plug them back in.
Problem: The projector does not show anything.
Make sure that the tape is playing. Press the Play button again.
The digital read-out on the front of the VCR should show a triangle and
a counter that is increasing when the tape is playing.
Problem: The projector still does not show anything.
Make sure that the power cable from the computer cabinet is plugged
into a power outlet. If the power cable is plugged into a power strip,
make sure that the power strip is plugged into a power outlet and is turned
on.
Problem: The projector still does not show anything.
Make sure that the VCR is on. If the problem persists, then report
it to the TCB Helpdesk located in Sanford 304 or by phone at 542-6799.
Problem: The image on the projection screen is jittery, shaky,
or unstable.
The tracking on the VCR used to record the program was different
from that of the VCR in this room. All the VCRs in TCB classrooms will
try to automatically adjust their tracking to match that of the tape.
Wait for a minute to give the VCR time to adjust. If the image does not
improve, then the VCR is unable to match the tape’s tracking. In
this case the tape will have the same problem on all the VCRs in TCB classrooms.

Problem: The projector does not show the correct input source
or shows only a blank blue image.
Make sure that the correct input source is selected. Press the
Video 1 button on the Sharp remote until you see “VIDEO 1”
in the upper right corner of the screen. If the problem persists report
it to the TCB Helpdesk located in Sanford 304 or by phone at 542-6799.
Problem: The projector shuts down unexpectedly and without warning.
The projector may have overheated. In this case it will automatically
shut down until it cools off. It will take at least five minutes for the
projector to cool sufficiently. The projector will automatically come
on again once it has finished cooling. If the projector does not come
back on after 10 minutes, then the problem is not overheating. The projector’s
motherboard might have failed. Report this problem to the TCB Helpdesk
located in Sanford 304 or by phone at 542-6799.
Problem: The image on the projection screen is dim or faint.
The bulb in the projector needs to be replaced. Report this problem
to the TCB Helpdesk located in Sanford 304 or by phone at 542-6799.
Problem: The image on the projection screen flashes or flickers
repeatedly.
A component of the electronics needs to be fixed or replaced.
Report this problem to the TCB Helpdesk located in Sanford 304 or by phone

Problem: The word “LAMP” flashes in a corner of the
projection screen for five seconds and then stops.
The bulb in the projector has been in use for 700 or more hours.

Problem: The projector emits smoke or sparks.
