that of the VCR in this room. All the VCRs in TCB classrooms will try
to automatically adjust their tracking to match that of the tape. Wait
for a minute to give the VCR time to adjust. If the image does not improve,
then the VCR is unable to match the tape’s tracking. In this case

One or more volume dials on the amplifier may be turned down/up. The A-506A
amplifier is located on the bottom shelf inside the computer cabinet.
It has several volume dials. Some of the dials have a labeled mark indicating
the recommended volume level. Make sure that the dials labeled “Master
Volume” and “VCR” are set at the recommended volume
level.
Problem: There is still no sound.
Make sure that the amplifier is on. The A-506A amplifier is located on
the bottom shelf inside the computer cabinet. Find the power button on
its right side. Above the power button is a red indicator light. If the
light is lit, then the amplifier is on. If the light is not lit, then
press the power button to turn the amplifier on.
Problem: The amplifier did not come on so there is still no sound.

the alternate video port on the back of the laptop. The alternate video
port is also semi-rectangular shaped and has nine pinholes. The laptop audio
cable has one round metal pin that fits into the headphone port of the laptop.
Connect these two cables to the laptop.
- Toggle the laptop’s video display mode if necessary. If the laptop
has booted up completely and you do not see anything on the projection screen,
then you may need to change the laptop’s video display mode. The three
display modes are listed below.
Laptop Screen Only – The projector receives
no video input from the laptop so the projection screen is blank, but
the laptop’s monitor looks normal.

and the laptop’s monitor receive the same input so that you see
the same image on the projection screen as on the monitor’s screen.
Alternate Video Only – The projector receives
the video input from the laptop, but the laptop’s monitor does
not. The laptop’s monitor screen is blank while the projection
screen shows the normal video signal from the laptop.
All laptops have a key combination that toggles between the display
modes. Usually the key combination is [Fn]+[F-key] where [Fn] is the
Function key, [F-key] is one of the keys labeled “F1” through
“F12”, and + means that you press both keys simultaneously.
The appropriate F-key should be labeled with either two symbols that
resemble monitors or with the letters “CRT/LCD”. It can
take a couple of seconds for the display mode to change so pause before
attempting to change the display mode again. You may have to change
the display mode two or three times before you find the one you want.
Some laptops may only have two of the display modes listed above.
- When you are finished with your presentation set the audio/video input
