UGA’s Terry College rises in ‘Bloomberg Businessweek’ rankings

Undergraduate programs at the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia rose to 44th nationally and 19th among public universities, according to the latest rankings from Bloomberg Businessweek.

Aided by the nation’s 13th highest score for student satisfaction, Terry jumped six spaces from its position last year.

“Our ranking has continued to improve for three straight years, which shows that not only are our students saying good things about their educational experience here, the people who hire them are too,” said Terry College Dean Robert T. Sumichrast. “This trend toward excellence at the undergraduate level reflects the hard work our faculty do every day in their research and in connecting with students.”

Terry has been ranked in the top 25 public schools for seven of the last eight years. It received an “A” for Teaching Quality and two grades of “A+” for Job Placement as well as Facilities and Services.

Bloomberg Businessweek’s ranking of undergraduate business programs is based on five elements: the student survey (30 percent), academic quality (30 percent) the recruiter survey (20 percent), starting salaries (10 percent), and MBA feeder school measure (10 percent). The undergraduate student survey measures satisfaction with all aspects of the business school experience and is combined with the two previous students surveys.
