UGA Music Business Program to premiere new football fight song

Athens, Ga. — A new fight song written for the University of Georgia football team will make its debut in Sanford Stadium this fall thanks to the UGA music business program in the Terry College of Business. "Go Dawgs (Sic 'em Woof Woof Woof)" will be included in the regular pre-game rotation for all 2012 home games.

Athens musician Dodd Ferrelle wrote the new fight song, which is available for download on both iTunes and athensmusic.net. Proceeds will go toward the music business program, an interdisciplinary certificate program housed in the Terry College. Students in the program handled all of the song’s licensing and marketing.

"Go Dawgs" features vocals from Athens rapper S.N.I.P.A., backing vocals from Ferrelle and local band Futurebirds and a backing track by Kameon Prather. It was produced by David Barbe, the UGA music business program director and longtime fixture in the Athens music scene.

The song also includes audio from legendary Bulldog announcer Larry Munson in the form of a clip describing a touchdown by Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker from the 1980 game between UGA and the University of South Carolina.
