PricewaterhouseCoopers pledges $375,000 to UGA’s Tull School of Accounting

Athens, Ga.—PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the world’s largest professional services firms, has pledged a gift of $375,000 to the Tull School of Accounting at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.

In recognition of the pledge, which will be paid over five years, the Tull School of Accounting will designate a PwC Teaching Fellow. The funds from the PwC gift will be used to support faculty research and teaching, student organizations and scholarships, and other priorities for the school. A portion of the pledge will be directed to other donor funds at Terry and UGA.

“This gift exceeds all of PwC's previous giving campaigns on behalf of the Terry College and the J.M. Tull School of Accounting,” said Ben Ayers, the school’s director. “We celebrate this great show of support and thank PwC for their generosity.”

Tull School of Accounting,” said Randy Butler, a 1992 accounting graduate who chaired PwC’s internal campaign. “PwC is continually impressed with the Tull School of Accounting and its focus on developing highly educated and thoughtful leaders for the next generation. We deeply value our relationship with the accounting faculty and the leadership team at Tull and are thankful for our ongoing partnership with this great institution.”

UGA’s School of Accounting was one of the first in the nation to be established as a separate professional school within a college of business. In 1982, it was renamed the J.M. Tull School of Accounting after receiving an endowment from the J.M. Tull Charitable Foundation of Atlanta. The school’s undergraduate and master’s programs are ranked among the top 10 by Public Accounting Report, and it is rated among the top 20 undergraduate accounting programs by U.S. News & World Report. The school’s faculty is well known for its teaching, research and service to the accounting profession.
