Emerging Leader Academy to be offered as a new six-day executive program by UGA’s Terry College of Business

Athens, Ga. — The University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business is now offering the Emerging Leader Academy, a new certificate program at the Terry Executive Education Center in Atlanta, beginning in September.

The six-day, two-course executive program is the product of a strategic partnership between renowned business executives and Terry College professors and researchers.

“This program addresses the critical transition from transaction leadership to transformational leadership that is needed for a competitive advantage,” said Robert T. Sumichrast, dean of the Terry College of Business. “We have had significant requests for leadership development programs, and we understand the importance of developing emerging leaders for roles of greater strategic value that will benefit their organizations.”

The Emerging Leader Academy offers in-depth training that includes behavioral and leadership assessments, three months of one-on-one coaching and the completion of a CAPstone™ Project within two learning modules:

Module One: September 21–23, 2010

• Leading High-Performance Teams
• Transformational Leadership

Module Two: October 20–22, 2010

• Building Strategic Relationships
• Strategy Execution
• Strategic Innovation

Program instructors include award-winning professors, researchers and business experts with experience training emerging leaders from Fortune 100 corporations, the U.S. military and the FBI.

The cost for the program is $5,500 per person. Any organization registering three or more participants receives a 10 percent discount.
